Madrid, September 3rd  2026

Urbaser announces the appointment of Ignacio Mosquera as the company’s new Chief Financial Officer, effective  September 14th.

Ignacio has more than 25 years of experience in Spain and internationally, spanning a range of sectors and leading companies. He began his career at Bain & Co. and has held positions at KPMG, Banco Popular and Millicom Group, as well as serving as Senior Vice President and Treasurer of Philips N.V., among other roles. For the past four years, he has served as CFO of Gestamp Group.

His appointment comes at a particularly significant time for Urbaser, coinciding with the beginning of a new phase of growth and development following the recent agreement for Platinum Equity to sell the company to EQT and Blackstone. The transaction is expected to close before the end of September.

Ignacio Mosquera will succeed Luis Martinez Jurado, who has served as Urbaser’s Chief Financial Officer for the past three years.

During this period, Luis has made a significant contribution to the company’s development and transformation. He has led the evolution of the finance function, strengthened its capabilities and team, and brought new talent into the organisation. He has also played a key role in the recent change-of-ownership transaction, as well as in the major refinancing transactions completed in 2025 and 2026.

To ensure a fully coordinated and orderly transition, Luis will remain with the company for the next two months, working closely with Ignacio and the rest of the management team throughout the handover process.

Fernando Abril-Martorell, CEO of Urbaser, said:

“We are delighted to welcome Ignacio to our management team. His experience will be of great value to the company during this new phase, and I am confident that he will make a decisive contribution to achieving our upcoming growth and transformation objectives.

“I would also like to express my special thanks to Luis for his commitment and the excellent work he has done over the past few years. He has been an important member of the management team and has made a highly significant contribution to the transformation of our finance function, the recruitment of new talent, the various highly successful refinancing transactions, and the sale process of Urbaser. I would also like to thank him for his willingness to remain with us over the coming weeks to ensure a smooth transition.”

Ignacio’s appointment forms part of the ongoing evolution of Urbaser’s management team as the company prepares for this new phase and continues to drive its growth and transformation.
