      Consenur Sanitarios: Authorisations and Certifications<\/b><\/p>

      Consenur Sanitarios, a member of the Urbaser Group, is a Technical Unit for Radiological Protection against ionising radiation, authorised by CSN resolution in its plenary meeting of 29 July 2019. It provides services to X\u2011ray diagnostic and 2nd- and 3rd-category radioactive facilities. Additionally, Urbaser is authorised to issue radiological verification certificates for equipment intended for type approval as radioactive apparatus.<\/span><\/p>

              RTPU stands for Radiological Protection Technical Unit.<\/span><\/p>

              These organisations are entities authorised by the Nuclear Safety Council to carry out activities in the field of radiation protection, in accordance with the conditions set out in their authorisation, and are required to report their actions to the Council. They must also inform the owners of the facilities they serve of all technical or administrative measures undertaken in line with their assigned responsibilities, as well as notify them of any safety-related incidents observed in the course of their work, and recommend appropriate corrective actions.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

              The Nuclear Safety Council is a non-departmental public body in Spain, independent of the Central Government, with its own legal personality and assets separate from those of the State. It is the sole authority responsible for nuclear safety and radiological protection in Spain.<\/span><\/p>

              Its primary mission is to safeguard workers, the public and the environment from the harmful effects of ionising radiation, ensuring that nuclear and radioactive facilities are operated safely by licensees. It also establishes measures for the prevention and management of radiological emergencies, regardless of their cause.<\/span><\/p>

              Among its many responsibilities, the Council authorises Radiation Protection Services, Technical Units and Dosimetry Centres, and conducts inspections of diagnostic X-ray facilities and radioactive installations, with the aim of ensuring safe operation in full compliance with applicable regulations.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/details>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t

              Before being brought into operation, medical diagnostic X-ray facilities must be declared by their owners to the competent authority of the Autonomous Community where the facility is located. For this purpose, the following documentation must be submitted, using the standard forms included in the annexes to Royal Decree 1085\/2009:<\/span><\/p>

              A declaration by the operator specifying the intended use of the facility and its operating conditions. (Annexes I.a) and I.b))<\/span><\/p>

              A certificate from the sales and service company supplying the equipment, confirming that the equipment meets the requirements set out in Article 7 of the Royal Decree. (Annex 2)<\/span><\/p>

              A certificate, based on the model provided in Annex 3, issued by a Radiological Protection Service or Technical Unit, confirming that the shielding and layout of the rooms comprising the facility are appropriate for the equipment installed.               All medical diagnostic X-ray facilities are required to implement a Radiation Protection Programme, setting out the operational measures applicable to Medical Radiodiagnosis Facilities, in accordance with the Regulation on health protection against the risks arising from exposure to ionising radiation, approved by Royal Decree 1029\/2022.<\/span><\/p>

              The purpose of this Programme is to ensure that radiation doses received by workers and the public are kept as low as reasonably achievable and, in any case, remain within the dose limits established by current legislation, with specific consideration given to pregnant workers, trainees, and students.<\/span><\/p>
