Staffers at Urbaser Alicante are just a few days away from being vaccinated. The company will begin the vaccination campaign against COVID among its 540 employees on June 7. Great news that comes after more than a year of providing essential services to the population, such as waste collection and street cleaning, to name a few.
COVID vaccination campaign puts an end to risks
Urbaser workers in Alicante are in daily contact with waste on the streets and during the collection of bins. A risk that exposes them to the virus during the performance of their duties. This step is, therefore, great news in terms of maintaining the company’s commitment, even throughout the pandemic, to guaranteeing the health and safety of its workers.
This campaign is possible thanks to the ‘Sumamos’ agreement, recently signed between the Regional Government and the business associations CEV (Business Confederation of the Valencian Community) and CEOE (Valencian Confederation of Employers). Thanks to this campaign, Urbaser will vaccinate 540 of its workers from the facilities in Elche, Santa Pola, Novelda, Ibi and Dolores over the next few days.
Urbaser complies with all the health procedures being carried out for the rest of the population. People who appear on the lists provided by the companies will be excluded from those of the Spanish Health Service, so as not to be summoned twice.
The Valencian Government will be in charge of supplying the corresponding doses and the necessary material, and the vaccines will be administered by the health staff of the Urbaser medical centres, for which they will receive training from the Regional Council.
This campaign brings us one step closer to the end of a pandemic in which we have given our best as essential workers.
