We at Urbaser would like to share some tips to make your Christmas more efficient and respectful of the environment.

Being aware that there is a considerable increase in consumerism at Christmas, we at Urbaser would like to encourage responsible behaviour so that this holiday season is more sustainable.
For example, to save paper, we suggest wishing your friends, acquaintances, and loved ones a Merry Christmas via email instead of with a traditional Christmas card.
According to Ministry of Health data, each Spaniard produces 1 kilo of trash every day, yet this figure jumps up to 1.75 kilos at Christmas. It is always important to control our food waste and separate trash properly, but this is especially important during the holidays. Also, it is important to avoid using disposable plates, glasses, and silverware.
When it comes to Christmas decorations, we suggest choosing a real, potted tree and decorating it with home-made ornaments and energy-saving lights that can be reused for years to come. After Christmas, you can take your tree to organisations in your city that will replant it.
It is important to give gifts that are sustainable and don’t harm the environment. Where possible, it is best to cut down on wrapping paper, tissue, and bags. In their place, we can use recycled paper or cloth from clothing that we no longer use to wrap presents.
Since we have a little extra free time during holiday vacations, we encourage you to pick sustainable plans and responsible modes of transport, like walking or using public transport.
